Welcome to the 2017 Smartest Loser Competition!

Welcome, and congratulations on taking the necessary steps to achieve better health! We're excited you've decided to make a commitment to embrace a more active lifestyle.

The Smartest Loser is a 10-week wellness program designed to help you become more physically fit and focus on proper eating habits. Each activity allows you to earn points each week. Your ultimate goal is to accrue 630 points at the end of the 10 weeks for water, exercise, and nutrition.

By participating in The Smartest Loser you are making a commitment to improving your health. Actively taking charge of your personal health can have a dramatic impact on your daily life and potentially lead to an improved mood, increased energy and decreased stress...you may even strengthen your heart too.

How to earn points?

  • Exercise - We're tracking the minutes you exercise this year. Get at least 20 minutes (2pts) of heart-rate elevated movement in a day (21 points max can be earned a week)
  • Nutrition - 5 servings of fruits and veggies and 4 small meals per day (4 points per day)
  • Water - 64 oz a day (2 points per day)
  • Body Fat % Lost - Difference in body fat % from the lowest recorded *
  • Weight % Loss - Difference in % body weight from lowest recorded weight *
  • * You will be scored on either body fat % OR weight loss, whichever is greater

New this year

  • Strength and Mobility sessions: Bring some movement into your work day by attending these sessions - low intensity exercises for the office on Fri. 3/10 and mid intensity exercises on Fri. 4/7. Strength & Mobility Sign Ups
  • Yoga sessions: Learn how to address some tension and stress areas common for an office by attending these sessions - low intensity stretches on Tues. 3/28 and mindfulness & breathing on Tues. 4/18. Yoga Sign Ups
  • Nutrition session: A 1 hour session on Mon. 3/13 to help us get our eating habits on the right track for the remainder of the program. Nutrition Sign Ups
  • Monday lunch time walks: Meet at the building's main entrance to join us for a 30 min walk to start off the work week (3/6, 3/20, 4/3, 4/17, and 5/1 from 12-12:30 PM and 3/13, 3/27, 4/10, 4/24, and 5/8 from 12:30-1 PM).
